Finite Element Simulation of Radial Tire Building and Shaping Processes Using an Elasto-Viscoplastic Model

The comprehensive tire building and shaping processes are investigated through the finite element method (FEM) in this article. mechanical properties of uncured rubber from different components cyclic loading-unloading experiments under strain rates. Based on experiments, an elasto-viscoplastic constitutive model is adopted to describe behaviors rubber. distinct properties, including stress level, hysteresis residual strain, can all be well characterized. whole process (including component winding, bladder inflation, stitching carcass band folding-back) simulated using model. green profile good agreement with actual obtained 3D scanning. deformation cord reinforcements during production FE simulation, which helpful for judging rationality construction design. Finally, influence parameter “drum width” investigated, result found consistent experimental observations, verifies effectiveness simulation. established simulation strategy provides some guiding significance improvement design parameters elimination defects.
